What is Otsukare Summer?

Otsukare SUMMER is a 2003 album track by the Japanese duo HALCALI. The title is a pun on otsukaresama, the everyday phrase for thanks for your hard work, so it reads roughly as good job, summer.

In summer 2025, 22 years after release, the song blew up on TikTok. HALCALI finally shot an official music video for it, and in March 2026 put it out as an EP.

The pet version is the one people keep sharing: a cat or dog standing on its hind legs, paws waving in time with the chorus.

Overview

What our Otsukare Summer AI generator does

Otsukare Summer AI turns one photo of your pet into a 10-second dance video with sound, set to the viral HALCALI summer song. No prompt, no editing.

A cat has no reason to stand up and dance, which is exactly why it works. In our example a grey Scottish Fold rises onto its back legs in a pastel cloud set and paws at the air with a completely straight face.

Upload one photo where the whole animal is visible. Fur color, markings, ears and face come from your photo. Cats and dogs work best, and people and other pets can join in too. Want the settings and our test photo? See our Otsukare Summer cat dance tutorial.

Fan-made template, not affiliated with HALCALI or their label. Upload only your own pets, yourself, or people who said yes.
